Here goes nothing!

Cheers to 2018! I am excited to jump into a new and exciting journey this year. (I’m sure you have heard that line before…especially after a few glasses of champagne, ringing in the New Year.)

After leaving teaching several years ago to raise our kiddos, a lot of life has certainly happened.  But, in a given week, I often find myself thinking, “What is my next move?” Well, with that on my mind, I figure there is no better time than now to shake things up a bit. Currently, I am reading You Are a Badass by Jen Sincero and by chapter eight, I declared to myself that it’s time to stop making excuses, and am starting my blog, in hopes to reach a few people with thoughts/ideas/tips/tricks that I’ve learned over the past several years. Social media is a double-edged sword. Think about it…our world has been taken over by social media.  From Presidential tweets making frequent appearances on Saturday Night Live to many moms, myself included, who rely on Pinterest to create the biggest and best birthday parties for our kids.

Day 1

Well, I am jumping on the blogging bandwagon in hopes to bring a little reality back to myself and anyone else who cares to join the party! Here, you will have a raw look into many different facets to what one may consider a “lifestyle.”

Essentially the meat and potatoes of this blog are the major “F’s”:

  • Fitness
  • Fashion
  • Food
  • Family
  • Friendships
  • Faith
  • Finances
  • FAST…I promise no long stories. No long narratives from this lady! These posts will promise to be raw and relatable.

If I haven’t lost you already, you are probably wondering who is this lady, and why do I care to dabble in reading yet another blog? I am a mid-west girl from a small town…a girl who cares about world peace and moist chocolate cake.  Really though, the fastest way to my heart is chocolate and a warm cup of coffee (with a splash of almond milk).  Several years ago, after meeting in college, I  landed my hunky husband and, after 7+ years of married bliss, we have three baby girls. Our family lives an active life but, like many of you, we have a few tricks up our sleeves. For more personal information about me, jump on over to and stalk my “About ME!” page.

It’s crazy to think that people can choose to jump out of a perfectly good plane, to enjoy a few moments of free falling back to earth. On the other hand, one could view that free fall as an opportunity of a lifetime, being able to look down, without a care in the world (that is, once your parachute is deployed and in full function). I am so excited to JUMP! There is no better feeling than knowing that I am jumping into something I’ve always wanted to do. This journey will be a BIG leap, but I’m excited a share a little bit of me, with you!
